Abstract
Retroperitoneal mucinous cystic tumor is very rare. About 30 cases have been reported in the worldwide literature. They show a histologic similarity to the ovarian mucinous tumor, but their histogenesis remains unclear. While transabdominal laparotomy and complete surgical excision is a standard of treatment, there had been a case-report of laparoscopic resection in 1998. We presented here a case report of a 29-year-old Korean woman with retroperitoneal mucinous cystic tumor. It was a thin-walled single-locular cyst, measured 10?5?5 cm in size and filled serous cystic fluid. The ovary and appendix were normal.
